Black Gold Tapestry

In May the Guild went on a field trip to the Glenbow Museum to see the Black Gold Tapestry exhibit.

Members had heard a great deal about the exhibit, even so we were still amazed by what we saw. Bravo to the Calgary artist Sandra Sawatsky, who thought up the concept of showing the history of oil in the form of a tapestry, who thoroughly researched and prepared the exhibit and painstakingly and lovingly stitched this masterpiece.

Here are a few pictures of the field trip.

Remembering Chris Giroux

It is with great sadness that we post this announcement.
A dear friend to the Guild, Chris Giroux passed away on June 13th, 2018.

Chris was a Guild member since 2005, serving two terms as Vice President and three terms as President, as well as volunteering countless hours on various Guild activities.
Needlework was Chris's passion and we are grateful that she shared her passion with the Guild. We will miss her laughter, her style, her enthusiasm for all things stitching. She will be greatly missed.
